About ABPA

History of ABPA

ABPA (Brazilian Animal Protein Association) is the union of the Brazilian Poultry Association (UBABEF) and the Brazilian Meat Producers and Exporters Association (ABIPECS). In this union the egg agro-industrial chains and the companies and organizations in the poultry came together.

The ABPA is the largest organisation in Brazil that represents the animal protein industry. Under it Brazil has been able to achieve the status of the leading exporters of chicken in the world with a staggering share of 38% in the world.

If we look at the 2015 facts Brazil exported around 3.7 million tons of chicken which generated revenue of over USD 7.6 billion which is 4% of total Brazilian exports and nearly 9% of Brazilian agribusiness exports.

All of this is possible because of the strong genetic material which is developed in Brazil and the technological advancement. ABPA also strives to make ties with more countries and stretch their reach.
